Voter Registration

Everyone should want to vote, but who’s actually eligible?

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be 18 years old to vote (some states do allow 17 year olds to vote)
  • Must follow your home state’s residency and identification requirements

Other important information:

  • Election day is ALWAYS the Tuesday after the first Monday of November
  • You can register by mail to vote (National Mail Voter Registration Form) in almost all states
    • Except North Dakota, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands do not accept the National Mail Voter Registration Form. Find out how to from your state election office.
    • New Hampshire accepts it only as a request for an absentee voter mail-in registration form.
  • Keep in mind that each state has a voter registration deadline − ranging from 30 days in advance to the day of voting; don’t miss registration and check out when your deadline is at the National Mail Voter Registration Form

You may also be able to register in person at the following public facilities:

There are tons of outlets to help you register to vote, including http://www.rockthevote.com, but it doesn’t matter where or how you sign up, just make sure you do!

(P.S. If you vote, you’ll get to use one of those super awesome geofilters on Snapchat and all of your Snapchat friends will think you’re really cool.)
